Because my house is near a forest reserve and a park, the mosquito count can be higher than in other urban areas. Aedes mosquitoes like to come out from hiding to bite during dusk and dawn – their hiding places being anywhere shady outside, or anywhere dark in our house, e.g. behind cabinets, under beds, etc.
My husband and children had often complained of mosquitoes biting them when they went to bed and the lights were turned off. .
We don’t have mosquito screen netting at our windows and doors because we like to have the free flowing breeze coming into our house.
